 Generating and Emailing Belarc System Reports

The Belarc Advisor builds a detailed profile of your installed software and hardware, missing Microsoft hotfixes, anti-virus status, CIS (Center for Internet Security) benchmarks, and displays the results in your Web browser. All of your PC profile information is kept private on your PC and is not sent to any web server.
  • Operating Systems: Runs on Windows 95/98/Me, NT 4, Windows 2000, XP and Windows Server 2003.
  • Browsers: Requires IE 3 or Netscape 3, and higher versions. Also runs on Opera, Mozilla, and Firefox.
  • File size: 990 KB.
  • License: The license associated with this product allows for free personal use only. Use on multiple PCs in a corporate, educational, military or government installation is prohibited. See the license agreement for details.

1. Download Belarc Advisor
  
Microsoft Internet Explorer users - Click the 'Run' button and the software will automatically install, build a profile, and display it in your web browser.

Opera, Mozilla, Firefox - Save this file to your Desktop and then double click 'advisor.exe' to automatically install, build, and display the report in your web browser.
 

2. Save the report to your Desktop

Microsoft Internet Explorer users - On the menu bar, click 'File' then 'Save As...', click on the Desktop icon on the left, for the filename - save the page as your first and last name, for the "Save As Type" choose - 'Web Archive, single file (*.mht)', and click Save.

Opera, Mozilla, Firefox - On the menu bar, click 'File' then 'Save As...', click on the Desktop icon on the left, for the filename - save the page as your first and last name, for the "Save As Type" choose - 'Web Page, HTML only', and click Save.


3. Create a new email and either drag-and-drop the web page into the message, click the 'paperclip' icon to select the file from the Desktop, or on the menu click 'Insert' then 'File...' and select the file with your name on it from the Desktop. Finally, send the email.
